AMERSA 2025 Pre-Conference
Wednesday, November 12, 2025 (12:00 PM - 8:00 PM) (EST)
Description
We are pleased to offer three local site visit options for pre-conference registrants (beginning at 12pm for Central City Concern and The Miracles Club, 11am for Outside In):
- Central City Concern (Golden West Building): The Golden West is a five-story historic building, consisting of 73 single-room occupancy units. Most of the units in the building are supported by CCC re-entry or behavioral health programs, and they serve a vital role in providing rapid, low barrier housing to some of the area’s most vulnerable adults.
- The Miracles Club: The Miracles Club is a community recovery center that offers addiction peer services to the African American Community, a fellowship hall, a wellness program, events, and meeting space for community recovery meetings.
- Outside In: Outside In provides comprehensive, low-barrier care to underserved and homeless youth and adults. They operate a health clinic offering primary care, behavioral health, substance use services, syringe exchange, and wraparound support. *Note: this site visit will begin at 11am.*
The site visits will be followed by an interactive advocacy workshop, led by experts from Legal Action Center, "Using the Law to Advocate for People who Use Drugs." This workshop will be an interactive, practical session that covers strategies for addressing discrimination against people who use drugs and protecting confidentiality of criminalized health data. (3pm - 6pm)
To close out the day, there will be a screening of "Do No Harm," a short documentary to be released on PBS this fall, focused on the journey of a woman with opioid use disorder and her ultimate recovery engaging with welcoming, evidence-based treatment integrated into her hospital care, followed by a panel discussion. (7pm - 8pm)
The registration fee also includes up to 4 optional CE/CME credits.
The $100 pre-conference registration fee includes a site visit, a 3 hour advocacy workshop, and a film screening. The registration fee also includes up to 4 optional CE/CME credits.
